Candy Stars launched on 10 October 2022, roughly ten months ahead of Candy Blitz from the same studio. The two share the confectionery look, though this one adds stars, diamonds and a darker blue — it reads as the more nocturnal of the pair.

Structurally they are different games. Candy Blitz pays through scatter pays; Candy Stars builds its rounds around wilds.

Candy Stars does one thing better than most of its neighbours: the free-spins round has a legible shape. Sticky multiplier wilds accumulate position by position, and halfway through a round you have a fair sense of where you stand.
